When you’ve done a p2v of a windows machine and you get a message saying the ip address is already in use when configuring the nic, use the following procedure:–
Go to a command prompt in the VM
Type set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 <Enter>
Start devmgmt.msc
Once device manager has opened, click on ‘view’ and then ‘show hidden devices’.
Expand network adapters and remove the old/physical nic.
